RN needed for Medicine Progressive Care Unit (MPCU)
*36 hours/week, Day/Night rotation (7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a), with weekend rotation. Flexible self-scheduling to meet the needs of the staff and the unit.

This is a 24-bed medicine progressive care unit that expanded to a recently renovated area. Each of the rooms have state-of-the-art equipment and promote efficiency and excellence in patient care. This fast-paced, high-acuity unit receives patients with a wide range of medical and pulmonary diagnoses and has the capability to have up to six vented patients. Previous experience with vents and cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred but not required.
The MPCU has received the Silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence designated by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) The AACN created the Beacon designation to recognize individual units that have set a path to excellence in an effort to highlight critical care units that distinguish themselves in every facet of patient care. Recipients of a Beacon designation demonstrate excellence in sustained unit performance and patient outcomes.
Requires graduation for a state-accredited school of professional nursing and at least one year of nursing (RN) experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing and have a current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, if hired after January 6, 2014 without a BSN or MSN and obtain a baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
