RN needed for Carolina Air Care Critical Care Transport: Pediatric Team

This position is 36 hours per week, rotating shifts and rotating bases with Carolina Air Care Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport Team. The work environment is a helicopter and ground ambulance with some time spent outdoors. Must be able to work in this environment with no restrictions.


1) Recent nursing experience in Neonatal or Pediatric ICU- with 3 years minimum experience, 5 years optimal.

2) Certifications to include- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP.

(one of these certifications prefer to be at instructor level)

3) Must obtain within one (1) year of hire Pediatric ITLS or TNCC and ATLS audit

4) Fit for duty requirements (weight 215lbs or less, able to lift 150lbs with assistance)

5) Professional specialty certification desirable and if no certification at hire must obtain within 18 months of hire

6) Previous experience teaching or lecture experience to various audiences desirable

7) EMT-Basic or Paramedic credential prior to hire is desirable

8) NC Driver's license in good standing needed


Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one (1) year of nursing experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.


Requires licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and current Healthcare Provider or BLS Provider Basic Life Support certification.
