Nursing Assistant II for Surgical Oncology/ENT Acute Care Unit - 7 Neuroscience
This is a 24-bed unit which cares for oncology patients including management of breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, endocrine cancer, melanoma, sarcoma and blood transfusions, antibiotic therapy, wound care and end of life care. We will provide you with the knowledge and training to provide quality surgical oncology care to this group of patients. Our goal is to ensure that excellent care is provided to both the patient and family throughout hospitalization while promoting a relaxing environment. We provide an environment that supports personal and professional growth with opportunities to advance, and on this unit you will be able to utilize all of your NAII skills!
The Nursing Assistant II provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting and all work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
This position is 36 hours/week; rotating to days, nights and weekends working 12 hour shifts (7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a). This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of hours worked. It also requires the ability to attend a week long hospital orientation (7:30am-5:00pm) which is offered every two weeks.
High School diploma or GED. Listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Six (6) months related nursing assistant experience.
