Job DescriptionJob description / responsibilities for this position:
Medical Assistant I Certified (Per Diem) needed with broad experience in multiple clinical areas for Outpatient Float Pool. Primary responsibilities include checking vitals, data collection, taking patient histories, rooming, medication reconciliation and giving immunizations. Must have excellent documentation and communication skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Strong computer skills, EMR and previous clinic experience preferred. Opportunities exist to cover shifts at the UNC Medical Center and its clinics throughout Chapel Hill and Hillsborough as well as to work in outpatients clinics in the Raleigh-Cary, Wakefield, Smithfield and Clayton vicinity. This is a per diem position requiring a minimum of three days available to work monthly, schedule is flexible work on week days/weekends based on Medical Assistant availability and clinic needs. ORIENTATION IS A ONE WEEK COMMITMENT. NO BENEFITS.
Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) OR meets the work eligibility (employed as a medical assistant for a minimum of five out of the last seven years, no more than two years of which may have been as an instructor in a post- secondary medical assistant program. Work experience must include both clinical and administrative duties) required by American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).
